Cantabella Children's Chorus started as a music literacy class of 10-12 children, ages 5-7, and was inspired by Zoltan Kodaly's philosophy that the singing voice should be every child's first and lifelong musical instrument. The class gradually developed into the Cantabella Children's Chorus with a total membership of close to 200 singers. Many members of the chorus are now very accomplished musicians, studying one or even two other musical instruments. But, they continue to enjoy singing, harmonizing and performing as a choral group. Choral singing has proven to be a great way to touch and be touched by music!
