History

Cantabella Children’s Chorus

1992 Bee Chow began a music literacy class of 10-12 children, ages 5-7, inspired by Zoltan Kodaly’s philosophy that the singing voice should be every child’s first and lifelong musical instrument. The class gradually developed into the Cantabella Children’s Chorus with a total membership of about 250 singers. Many members of the chorus are now very accomplished musicians, studying one or even two other musical instruments. Most importantly, they continue to enjoy singing, harmonizing and performing as a choral group. Choral singing has proven to be a great way to touch and be touched by music!
